The rK4D methodology is described in Shin\net al. (2022) , the rGLO model\nin Shin and Park (2024) , and\nthe rGGD model in Shin and Park (2025)\n. The underlying distributions\nare related to the kappa distribution of Hosking (1994)\n, the generalized logistic\ndistribution discussed by Ahmad et al. (1988)\n, and the generalized Gumbel\ndistribution of Jeong et al. (2014)\n. Penalized likelihood\napproaches for extreme value estimation follow Martins and\nStedinger (2000) and Coles and Dixon\n(1999) . Selection of r is\nsupported using methods discussed in Bader et al.
